Preschool Program

Last Thursday was the parent program for Talon's preschool class.  Since most of the kids are going to at least a 2nd year of preschool his teacher decided to not do the traditional graduation and instead did a research project.  They learned about different cultures, languages and countries.  Talon did his on Argentina where Devin went on his mission.  After they pointed out where there country was on the map they went to their station and the parents got to walk around and ask each kid about their country.

Thanks to Miss Rebecca for helping Talon grow so much this year!  What a great teacher he had!

Happiest place on earth!

Last week we took Talon to Disneyland for his 4 year birthday.  Devin's birthday is just 3 day before Talon's so we were able to celebrate both of them on vacation.

For Talon 4 years old was the PERFECT age for Disneyland.  He was tall enough to ride all almost all the big rides and still small enough to enjoy the fun kiddie ones.  I swear that kid isn't afraid of anything! He loved Tower of tower, Space Mountain and Thunder Mountain and keeps asking when we can go back to Disneyland.

My mom met us at the airport in Salt Lake and then flew with us to CA.  It was so nice to have an extra set of hands and to let her sit next to Talon on one of the flights :)  I actually got to sit next to Devin.

I had to buy Talon an autograph book for him to take any character pictures.  He needed a purpose and then he was good with it.

Toy Story was one of my favorite rides!!  It's like you're in a video game and get to shoot all the targets and get points for everything you hit.  Plus it's in 4D!

After they got off Tower of terror they gave Talon a sticker that said "I took the dare"!!

Waiting for World of Color to start!  It was cool but a little long and we should have gotten there earlier for better seats!

One day 3 Talon woke up with one of his non - stop coughs and didn't feel great!  We bought him all sorts of cough medicine but of course nothing worked.  So by mid day he was camped out!  Devin and I took the opportunity to go on Indiana Jones which is one Talon's not tall enough for.  Once he woke up and my mom told him we were on a ride he couldn't go on he said "I know, lets go on a ride without them".

I think this is the ice cream that got me sick but it was sure good!  I finished his ice cream cone and came down with a cold two days later!  Yuck!

We spent our last night at Downtown Disney where we had dinner at Rainforest Cafe and then took Talon to "Build your ride" where you get to pick out the body for your truck or car and then accessorize it.  I think Devin liked picking stuff out more than Talon.

Our last day in Cali we spent at Huntington Beach.

And Talon didn't stop running the whole time!!  He loves the beach and the water!

We also celebrated his 4 year birthday!  I can't believe I have a 4 year old already :)

We celebrated with a little cake that night and sang Happy Birthday!  It wouldn't be a true birthday without the birthday song and some cake right?

Sunday Nacho's

Some how we got into the routine of having nacho's after church on Sundays.  Maybe it's because we don't get out until 3:00 and it's too late to have a big lunch.  But now there's no going back now, Talon knows that after church we have nacho's and he looks forward to it.  It's a sunday tradition around here now!  A few months ago my mom was here visiting and took Talon home from church while Devin and I had meeting to attend to and he let her know that "we have nacho's after church".   I'm not sure we'll ever get out of this tradition either, Talon has always LOVED chips.

Easter

We started off celebrating the Easter season with the annual neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt.  We didn't have to prep Talon too much this year he knew exactly what to do as soon as the buzzer sounded.  He was off!!!  Once he filled up his basket (even though there were still eggs to be picked up) he stopped and was so happy with his loot.

(Picture below is courteous of Talon, he's been into taking pictures lately)

The day before Easter we got a fun package in the mail from Nonni and Poppi.  It has something for all of us.

We also had fun dyeing Easter Eggs.

Talon woke up Sunday morning running into our room stark naked.  He's into changing out of his pajama's first thing in the morning and I think he stopped to go to the bathroom too.  SO...after I helped him get some new clothes on (he's starting to want to pick his own clothes out and it's been hard to let him).  He headed downstairs before I was completely dressed and started finding eggs along the way.  This year the Easter Bunny hide about a dozen plastic filled eggs throughout the house and he actually only needed help finding the last one.

The Easter Bunny filled his basket full of fun new "surprises" and he got a dart gun from mom and dad (I don't think it's fair that the Easter Bunny gets all the credit).  He kept telling me over and over again "this is the BEST gun ever".

Once the dust settled from all the Easter fun and after our hard boiled egg breakfast we sat Talon down to tell him about the true meaning of Easter.  As a family we watched "He is Risen"from Living Scriptures and talked about why we celebrate Easter.  Thank goodness for 12:00 church!

While getting Talon ready he told me that pink is never, ever, ever a boy color and then once I got his tie on he looked at himself in the mirror and said "this is NOT cool".  I just had to laugh and try to convince him that it was cool and that he looked SO handsome.  Don't ya think?

This last picture is also courteous of Talon.  He told me to make a funny face and pull my hair out like this.  I think he's going to be a natural photographer.

We got to spend Easter dinner with some good friends who invited us over.  It's so nice to be able to celebrate with other families while we are away from ours.  We are so lucky to have such good friends.
