Birthday Bliss

You've had a birthday shout hooray!  Ok it was actually my birthday and even though turning one year older isn't that fun it was still a great day!  Devin planned a family day starting with a HUGE breakfast at the Pancake house.  I'm still salivating over the freshly squeezed orange juice, it was seriously to die for.  We did some shopping and then he had a surprise massage apt scheduled for me.  He dropped me off at the massage place and took Talon to a near by park.  What more can a girl ask for?

After my massage we came home so I could shower and get ready for dinner.  I had a good friend offer to watch Talon so we could go out but we decided Talon would love the hibachi grill that we were going to so we took him along.  It was so fun to watch his face while they cooked the food on the grill right in front of us.  Yes that fire is on purpose but obviously I was still a little nervous having Talon so close to it.  The food was delicious and even Talon ate everything on his plate (veggies and all).

Devin surprised me with signing me up for a photoshop class that I've been wanting to take.  YEA!!!  Saturday birthdays are the best!!!

The skate park!

We've been taking Talon to the nearby skate park with his balance bike and he LOVES it.  Last week we met some friends there for a little lunch and then we let the kids ride.  He rode so much that day that he complained about his bum hurting the next day when he went to get on his bike (a little saddle sore?).
We was so excited today when I picked him up from preschool and told him we could go to the skate park again and maybe Daddy would like to come and see his tricks during lunchtime.  So we packed up a lunch and headed to the park.  I must say I'm impressed with this little guy's skills and he keeps getting better and better!

Story time with Mr. Cliff

After my aerobics class on Wednesday's Talon and I have been hitting the library and story time with Mr. Cliff.  I honestly think Mr. Cliff is one of the best story tellers around.  He starts off with a guitar and songs.  He is just so animated, the kids are always laughing and are entertained.  Talon still talks about how one time Mr. Cliff (purposely) opened a BIG book to read and kept bonking himself in the head with it.  All the kids thought it was hilarious!

Not only do we check out new books each week to read at bedtime, Talon also LOVES to sit at the computer and play the kid games.  The computers are touch screen but he's also been able to kind of figure out the mouse.  I hope he always has a love for reading and learning new things!

The Lorax

We took Talon to see The Lorax on Saturday and ended up going to the 3D showing.  The original showing we wanted to go to was SOLD OUT!  I don't know what we were thinking trying to see a 4:30 show on a Saturday and on opening weekend too.  I'm pretty sure they planned to release it the same weekend as Dr. Seuss birthday.  Everyone had the same idea we did I guess.  The next showing was 3D and no longer a matinee but we ended up forking out the extra $$ since we were there anyway.  We weren't sure if Talon would leave the 3D glasses on the whole time but we decided to take the chance.
He ended up doing AWESOME and LOVED it!  The first time the screen turned 3D he quickly took off his glasses and said "did you see that?  That was awesome!"  It was so fun to experience this first with him.

We realized after we took the picture of Devin and Talon that Talon had the adult glasses on and Devin the child glasses.  It makes me laugh every time I look at the picture.  They did switch before the movie started and that probably helped Talon leave his glasses on because they actually fit.

After the movie Talon always has to stop by the arcade for a ride on the motorcycle, although he's just fine sitting on it for a "ride" without putting in money in it.
