I {heart} you!

For Valentines Day Talon got a sled (aka snowboard if you ask him), a valentines shirt made by me, candy and a sunglass case for his sunglasses.  I placed his valentines gifts out so he'd see them when he first walked out of his room in the morning.  He has preschool at 9:00 and by 8:25 I decided to go wake him up with a "Happy Valentines Day".  This is how the rest of our conversation went:

Talon:  but I'm still a little bit tired
Me: why don't you get up and come find your valentine gifts?
Talon: can you just come bring it to me cause I'm tired? (what are you 16 now?)
Me: no get up and come use the bathroom
Talon: well I already got a lot of pee in my pants

He eventually did get up and once he saw his sled his words were "awesome"!  Now we just need some more snow to use this awesome sled.

Thanks to Pinterest {I heart Pinterest in a big way} I made these heart shaped suckers out of mini candy canes for him to pass out to his friends.  You just melt them in the oven for about 5 minutes and then stick the stick in.

Talon was also invited to a Valentines party by one of my over achiever, super Mom friends Elizabeth. They had a cute Valentines lunch and then decorated cupcakes.  He asked me to frost his cupcakes but then the rest of the decorating was up to him, can you tell from the amount of candy he stuck on those things?

As for Devin and me, we put Talon down early (and he actually went to sleep) and then made a king crab and steak dinner at home.  It's a tradition that I also heart.  It's probably the only time the whole year we sit and eat a quiet dinner at home by ourselves.  We also made a trip to Costco that day and bought ourselves a Gel Memory Foam Topper for our bed.  Happy Valentines to us!  Oh and Devin brought home some flowers too :)

Snow Day

We had a huge snow storm, it was reported as 28" in 24 hours and it just kept coming.  It started on Friday and continued through Saturday.

Once the snow did stop on Saturday, the sun came out like it always does in Colorado and it was beautiful.  So we dressed up in our snow gear and played.

Talon thought it would be fun to try and walk through the back yard.  He had to use his arms and almost swim through the snow to get through.

Devin and Talon built a snowman and used Talon's sand toys as gear for the snowman.  I guess our snowman was surfing?  Shortly after I snapped a picture Talon decided he wanted to knock down the snowman.  Poor guy didn't stand a chance.

And this would be the reason I am never in any of the pictures...I'm always behind the camera.  I recently took another photography class and am trying out all the things I learned.
