Sunday Nacho's

Some how we got into the routine of having nacho's after church on Sundays.  Maybe it's because we don't get out until 3:00 and it's too late to have a big lunch.  But now there's no going back now, Talon knows that after church we have nacho's and he looks forward to it.  It's a sunday tradition around here now!  A few months ago my mom was here visiting and took Talon home from church while Devin and I had meeting to attend to and he let her know that "we have nacho's after church".   I'm not sure we'll ever get out of this tradition either, Talon has always LOVED chips.

Easter

We started off celebrating the Easter season with the annual neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt.  We didn't have to prep Talon too much this year he knew exactly what to do as soon as the buzzer sounded.  He was off!!!  Once he filled up his basket (even though there were still eggs to be picked up) he stopped and was so happy with his loot.

(Picture below is courteous of Talon, he's been into taking pictures lately)

The day before Easter we got a fun package in the mail from Nonni and Poppi.  It has something for all of us.

We also had fun dyeing Easter Eggs.

Talon woke up Sunday morning running into our room stark naked.  He's into changing out of his pajama's first thing in the morning and I think he stopped to go to the bathroom too.  SO...after I helped him get some new clothes on (he's starting to want to pick his own clothes out and it's been hard to let him).  He headed downstairs before I was completely dressed and started finding eggs along the way.  This year the Easter Bunny hide about a dozen plastic filled eggs throughout the house and he actually only needed help finding the last one.

The Easter Bunny filled his basket full of fun new "surprises" and he got a dart gun from mom and dad (I don't think it's fair that the Easter Bunny gets all the credit).  He kept telling me over and over again "this is the BEST gun ever".

Once the dust settled from all the Easter fun and after our hard boiled egg breakfast we sat Talon down to tell him about the true meaning of Easter.  As a family we watched "He is Risen"from Living Scriptures and talked about why we celebrate Easter.  Thank goodness for 12:00 church!

While getting Talon ready he told me that pink is never, ever, ever a boy color and then once I got his tie on he looked at himself in the mirror and said "this is NOT cool".  I just had to laugh and try to convince him that it was cool and that he looked SO handsome.  Don't ya think?

This last picture is also courteous of Talon.  He told me to make a funny face and pull my hair out like this.  I think he's going to be a natural photographer.

We got to spend Easter dinner with some good friends who invited us over.  It's so nice to be able to celebrate with other families while we are away from ours.  We are so lucky to have such good friends.

Early morning breakfast and clean day

Saturday morning Devin woke up with a brilliant idea, that we should go out to breakfast and bike there.  This is the first time I've been on my bike since last fall but I was up for it.  It was just a short bike ride but by the time we got there I was starving and so ready for a big breakfast.   Talon loved it too, I heard him screaming happy screams as Devin took off with him in the trailer.  It's hard work being a kid!

Once we got home Devin and Talon washed up our cars.  I love that Devin is teaching Talon that it's important to take care of your things and to keep them nice and clean

Talon also washed up his rides too.  He soaped up and rinsed off both of his bikes.

Spring break at the Zoo

We headed to one of our favorite Zoo's today!  Talon's been on spring break all week (ok so he only has 2 days of preschool per week but still).  I wanted to take him to do something fun while he was out of school!  We went with our friends to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo!  It's a 45 minute drive but well worth the trip!

The giraffe's have gone green this year and instead of buying crackers to feed them you buy lettuce to help them eat healthier (I think we all need a little bit of that).  They have the biggest heard of giraffe's- larger than any other zoo and it's always a favorite.

We also rode the merry go round, fed birds from a seed stick, almost got peed on by the monkey's and had amazing weather and a great time.
